Sephora Haul

Swear to God, my experiences at Sephora keep getting weirder and weirder. I was dressed in jeans, a basic white tee and flats. I had no makeup on (not even lipbalm) and my hair was tossed in a messy bun (freshly washed hair tends to be more pouffy, so a bun keeps it in check). I happened to be carrying my Black Box Backpack on my er, back (strapped around both shoulders as opposed to just one, so as to keep it out of the way). Nothing about me made me look like a Makeup Artist or Sales Assistant… and yet some girl approached me out of nowhere and started asking me questions about a certain product (I got paranoid for half a second and thought that she had somehow pieced together the fact that I run LuLu ♥’s Makeup). I explained to her that I didn’t work at Sephora… and then proceeded to help her anyway lol

As for myself, I picked up a few random tidbits such as the a Travel-Sized Waterproof Too Faced Better Than Love Mascara (which made me die laughing because it’s actually called Better Than Sex world-wide, but I guess they had to “clean it up” for us uptight Arabs) and Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara (which is overtly sexual – going by the description alone – lol) and 2 Urban Decay Liners (1 being specially formulated for the Waterline which I thought was pretty cool!) and a Sephora Honey Lip Scrub. I was only browsing around but also managed to find something I’d been lusting after for so long (Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow in the shade Solstice)! Also, I was lucky enough to stumble upon the Limited Edition GlamGlow GravityMud Firming Treatment (Sonic Blue – Collectible Edition)!

Further disproving my “Samples Theory”, they gave me some Urban Decay Subversion Lash Primer Card Samples (because I purchased x3 items from Urban Decay) and several Clarins skincare samples (because… I don’t know). The total for all of the above was KD 48/000 which means Sephora Black Card, here I come!

Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara (KD 11/000)
Urban Decay Street 24/7 Liner (KD 7/750)
Urban Decay Torch 24/7 Liner (KD 7/500)
Urban Decay Solstice Moondust Eyeshadow (KD 7/750)
GlamGlow Sonic Blue GravityMud Firming Treatment (KD 8/250)
Too Faced Better Than Love Waterproof Mascara (KD 3/500)
Sephora Honey Lip Scrub (KD 2/250)

Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara (KD 11/000)

A BIG volume mascara that delivers instant heart-stopping volume with up to 24 hour wear that lasts all night, and even the morning after, for your biggest, blackest, boldest lashes yet.

I believe Monsieur Big is Lancome’s newest Mascara. I never watched Sex and the City (it’s another one of those shows that I’ve heard so much about, so I feel like I already know what it’s all about without having to actually watch any of it) but I’m thinkin’ maybe Monsieur Big is a reference to that show? I purchased Monsieur Big Mascara because I like Lancôme (a lot) and I love Mascara and I enjoy trying out new ones, all the time! Personally, I rarely wear false lashes but I enjoy recreating the false lash effect using nothing but Mascara, that’s why I’m always on the lookout for a good Mascara that’ll help me achieve that “look”. Monsieur Big is a chunky mascara with a chunky brush, which is actually my preference. I don’t plan on wearing this anywhere near 24 hours, but it’s nice to know that I’ve got the thumbs up from Lancôme (which was the only thing holding me back, frankly) to go out and have a one-night-stand (jokes, jokes).

Urban Decay Street 24/7 Waterline Pencil (KD 7/750)

Want a liner that’s legit to use anywhere? We specifically developed 24/7 Waterline Eye Pencil for use on the inner rim in the waterline. Our creamy, demi-matte pencil lays down waterproof color that lasts all day—in a range of never-before-seen shades. It’s a liner like no other.

No wonder it didn’t have the usual iridiscent-y silver packaging that the regular 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils usually come in. I didn’t even realize that the range (6 shades) was formulated specifically for the Waterline, until now. I just saw that it was a matte green and grabbed it. Hopefully Street will work on others areas (as opposed to being too stiff or dry) and not only on the Waterline, because I’ve already got a handful of ColourPop Super Shock Shadows I’d love to pair it with. Oooh maybe I can use it to fill in my brows too (can’t seem to let go of the notion of having matte dark green brows)! If you are interested, Urban Decay 24/7 Waterline Eye Pencils are available in the shades Walk of Shame (nude), Legend (black), Rail (brown), Mood (charcoal), Push (navy), and Street (green).

Urban Decay Torch 24/7 Glide-On Pencil (KD 7/500)

Creamy, forever-lasting, award-winning and waterproof, 24/7 pencils delight you with lush tropical hues, deep metallics, and unusually vibrant neutrals. The best Eye Pencil ever, ever, ever!

I live for Urban Decay 24/7 Liners! They’re so soft and creamy yet crazy pigmented! In fact, I use them for everything, from meticulously blending out the matte ones in the crease (for a cut-crease look) to popping the more iridescent-y ones in the inner corner as a highlight, to lining my Waterline with the more colorful ones, as well as the more conventional way of lining my eyes with them. When it comes to Black, my fave has to be the Bourjois Contour Clubbing Liner (review here) but for everything else, definitely Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencils hands down, which is precisely why I feel the need to own one in every single color (and every single variation on that color lol)! In the interest of full disclosure, I was actually at the Urban Decay counter looking for Alkaline (deep wine) but couldn’t find it so ended up getting Torch (sienna) instead. Both Aklaline and Torch were newly released as part of the Urban Decay Naked Heat Collection.

Urban Decay Solstice Moondust Eyeshadow (KD 7/750)

Microfine bits of iridescent sparkle collide with intense, dreamy hues and lush, 3-D metallics—for an effect that’s out of this world.

Solstice is described as a metallic pink-red with green 3D sparkle and shift. I’ve been lusting after this baby ever since it was first released (tried ordering it before from but it was always out of stock)! I’ve got other Moondust Eyeshadows and even a Moondust Palette (gifted to me, here) but Solstice is the one that’s had my heart, for all those years! Over time, I resigned myself to the fact that I’d probably never get my hands on Solstice… until I spotted it chilling all nonchalant on the shelf at the Urban Decay counter at Sephora! First of all, the texture and pigmentation is out of this world (soz couldn’t resist)! Second, it’s a duochrome (love those)! Third, the shade itself is stun-ning! I’m so so so happy!

Urban Decay Subversion Lash Primer (x3 Card Samples)

Ready to take your mascara to the next level? Like foreplay for your lashes, our whipped, creamy lash primer conditions and primes for the perfect mascara application.

Once you experience how much more smoothly your mascara glides on, you won’t be able to live without it!

It feels like all the makeup brands are still trying to stumble upon Nars Orgasm Blush fame, by coming out with hyper sexual names and descriptions for their products. I mean the description for Subversion Lash Primer is so ridiculous, it made me LOL That said, I can’t wait to try this and see if it actually does “take my mascara to the next level”! It’s actually a really cool sample (which is a nice change)!

GlamGlow Sonic Blue GravityMud Firming Treatment (KD 8/250)

A collection of three limited-edition, collectible tubes of the peel off mud treatment that firms and tightens featuring Sega’s Sonic the Hedgehog. … Collect all three limited-edition tubes featuring your favorite Sonic characters: Sonic and Knuckles and Tails.

In honor of the video game’s 25th anniversary, GlamGlow teamed up with Sega to release 3 Sonic The Hedgehog Collectible Editions of GravityMud Firming Treatment! I’ve heard all the hype surrounding, but just assumed that we’d probably never get them in Kuwait, so imagine my delight when I spotted this lil cutie at the zigzag-y queue that leads to the check-out counter! I was ecstatic! GravityMud is one of those masks that dry into an almost rubbery texture so you could easily (and painlessly) peel it off! The regular ones are silver but this Limited Edition one is in the shade “Sonic Blue“! So cool!

Too Faced Better Than Love Waterproof Mascara (KD 3/500)

Go ahead and get wet with this deluxe size of our bestselling mascara with high-performance, water-resistant polymers for sweat-proof, waterproof, play proof wear.

Also at the zigzag-y queue leading towards the check-out counter (where they sell all the travel-sizes and minis) I picked up this little Too Faced Better Than Love Mascara because… the packaging reminded me of MAC’s Alluring Aquatic Collection (haulage here). MAC Alluring Aquatic Collection had hands down the prettiest packaging of any collection (MAC or otherwise) ever! I know, I know, I’ve got issues. I don’t even like Waterproof Mascara (I’m worried that they might damage what’s left of my already frail lashes) but only the Waterproof version has those gorgeous raised water droplets on the packaging. Once again, the description is quite sexual, which is understandable since y’know the Mascara is actually called Better Than Sex but, of course they had to tone it down, for it to be sold in this area of the world, and changed it to Better Than Love, which I find hilarious (typical entitled Arab behavior)!

Sephora Honey Lip Scrub (KD 2/250)

A range of six lip balms, each with a different ingredient to nurture lips all day long. Available in balm or scrub format, these addictive scent will meet any lip concern and boost every mood. Each of the five balms feature targeted ingredients for specific benefits. The lip scrub features gentle sugar exfoliants to smooth and soften lips, priming them for lipstick and other lip products.

Sephora came out with a new range of Lip stuff that consisted of 5 Lip Balms (AlmondCoconutGojiRoseTangerine) and 1 Lip Scrub (Honey). At first, I was drawn to the cutesy colorful cardboard packaging (ugh, how adorbs is that honeycomb print?) and thought they were all Lip Balms (kinda’ wanted them all) but decided on getting just one, to try it out first. Once I realized there was a Lip Scrub in their midst and a honey scented and honey flavored one at that, my decision was made!

These are the products I actually purchased.

– Urban Decay Torch 24/7 Liner (KD 7/500)
– Urban Decay Street 24/7 Liner (KD 7/750)
– Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara (KD 11/000)
– Too Faced Better Than Love Waterproof Mascara (KD 3/500)
– Urban Decay Solstice Moondust Eyeshadow (KD 7/750)
– GlamGlow Sonic Blue GravityMud Firming Treatment (KD 8/250)
– Sephora Honey Lip Scrub (KD 2/250)

These are the things I got (for free) as gifts with purchase. Either they’ve got an excess of Clarins Skincare Samples or the Sales Assistant is trying to tell me something (that I look old lawl). Whoops, I forgot to include the Urban Decay Subversion Samples.

– Clarins Mission Perfection Serum (x3)
– Clarins Renew-Plus Body Serum (x2)
– Clarins Extra-Firming Day Cream
– Clarins Toning Lotion with Iris (x2)

Clarins Mission Perfection Serum

Clarins’ groundbreaking serum targets dark spots, discolourations, dullness and shadows—without altering your natural skin tone. Immediately, skin is glowing and luminous. Day after day, skin’s full radiance is recovered.

Clarins Renew-Plus Body Serum

Concentrated, anti-wrinkle body serum helps restore the smoothness, firmness and radiance of young-looking skin. The dual moisturizing and cellular renewal action of Water Lily extract encourages the elimination of dry, flaky cells — smoothing away roughness to leave skin soft, supple and bright. Moisturizes all through the day and night.

Clarins Extra-Firming Day Cream

Silky day cream visibly firms, lifts and fights wrinkles with the age-defying power of Kangaroo Flower extract—a new plant discovery that leaves skin looking smooth, firm, radiant, and more renewed day after day.

Clarins Toning Lotion with Iris

Alcohol-free toner — with purifying Iris and Sage extracts — removes every last trace of cleanser, leaving combination and oily skin types clean and perfectly radiant.Skin-balancing formula tones and tightens pores, while helping to normalize surface oils. Preps skin for the Clarins treatments to follow.

Here’s everything I got from Sephora.

It might look like a lot but it’s only 2 Eyeliners, 2 Mascara (1 of them being a mini), 1 Eyeshadow, 2 Skincare Items (Face Mask and Lip Scrub) and the rest are all samples (mostly skincare as well). I felt the prices were pretty decent as well (not great but decent) aside from the GlamGlow Mask which felt overpriced, but since it’s a Collectible and I used to enjoy playing Sonic as a kid, I shall allow it (as if I’ve got any say in the matter lawl).

I’ve finally qualified for a Sephora Black Card + Free Gift for reaching 200 points + all the other “perks” that comes with having a Sephora Black Card!

Hope you enjoyed this post!
