Bourjois Mini Haulage

At the Perfume & Makeup Exhibition (that took place at Mishref Fair Grounds during the end of October, start of November) I picked up a few things at the Bourjois stall. They were having some sort of deal where if you bought two items you got the third free*. I was prepared to keep walking past the booth, when the sales lady mentioned something about the Contour Clubbing Pencil Eye Liners (my favorite black pencil liner) being released in all-new shades! I just had to get one of the newer shades! I figured since I was purchasing something anyway, I might as well take advantage of the deal and pick out another something to get the gift with purchase (gwp). So I went for the Le Duo Gel (La Lacque Gel + Le Top Coat Gel) since I’ve never used anything like that before, especially not on my pitiful nails. For the third item, I picked up a So Lacque Glossy in a cute pink shade because… pink ^_~

* The third item had to be from the bargain bin selection (not any of the newer items).

Le Duo Gel is a gel system that includes both La Lacque Gel and Le Top Coat Gel. The shades available in the Gel Duos were 02 Chair et Tendre (nude), 05 Are You Reddy (orange-red), and 08 Cherry D’amour (vampy berry). Each Duo came with its own Fix & Shine Top Coat Gel. In all honesty, I was a bit wary of the word “Gel” thinking it might be a bit complicated to apply (Would I be able to apply this stuff by myself at home or would I need a trip to the salon every single time? Would I be needing a UV lamp? Would I be able to remove it myself, without the help of a professional? etc…) but thankfully the directions on the back were pretty simple and clearly stated No UV Light which set my mind at ease. I can’t stand orange-y reds on my lips or nails so I skipped 05 Are You Reddy and I didn’t think I’d be getting much use out of 08 Cherry D’amour, so I went with the nice nude-y shade 02 Chair et Tendre which seemed the most wearable. I’ve never tried the actual Gel Nail Treatment thing (with the whole UV lamp and whatnot) because I highly doubt my sad little nails could handle it, however this version by Bourjois seems totally doable. Apparently this stuff is supposed to last for 15 days. I’m not quite sure what to expect but I’m super excited to try it out! At the very least I’ll have extra shiny nails in a pretty color!

So Laque Glossy in the shade 08 Peach and Love

I chose So Lacque Glossy as my gift with purchase because I’ve not only tried this particular formula before (which they claim lasts for 10 days) but actually enjoyed it and the shade 08 Peach and Love is quite adorable (just can’t resist a cute pink)!

Contour Clubbing Waterproof in the shade 54 Ultra Black

As I mentioned at the start of this post, the Bourjois Contour Clubbing Waterproof Eye Pencil (reviewed here) is my all time favorite Eye Pencil (Holy Grail Status!). It glides on like a dream (fully pigmented in one go and no skipping or tugging either)! It makes manipulating the line (making it as thick or thin as I need) an absolute breeze! Mostly, I love how easy it is to flick or completely wing out my eyeliner using this stuff! With that being said, the shade I use is 41 Party Black and although it starts off as a true black, it fades into a blue-toned gray shortly after. I’m not happy about that, but the ease of use (all the reasons mentioned above) is why this thing is a favorite, regardless. One of the newer shades they just released was 54 Ultra Black which immediately reminded me of MAC Feline Kohl Pencil which is a deep matte black. To have that tone (MAC Feline Kohl Pencil) in this formula (Bourjois Contour Clubbing Waterproof Eye Pencil) would a be dream come true! Bear in mind that this stuff isn’t actually Waterproof (even though they claim it is) and not only is it completely gone with the use of my regular makeup remover (Clean and Clear Deep Cleansing Makeup Remover) but I also tend to fix up any mistakes using a q-tip soaked in water… so no, not waterproof at all but I actually like that because that makes this stuff less of a hassle to remove. Normally, I buy Contour Clubbing Waterproof Eye Pencil in bulk but since I was trying out a new shade (54 Ultra Black), I just picked up the the one. I’ve only gotten around to using 54 Ultra Black just recently and even then only a handful of times, because I wanted to finish up the 42 Party Black liners that were already opened and I was already using first but it’s safe to say that I’m pretty much obsessed! Dreams really do come true as this stuff is perfection!
