For soft, sweet skin
With maize flour, polenta and a popcorn topping, the ingredients make this fresh facial cleanser sound more like food than skincare! We combine these ingredients with glycerin and corn oil to give you a very soft, moisturizing scrub, leaving your skin bright, clean and smooth. It is gentle enough to use on your entire body, and has a dash of cinnamon powder to warm up your skin.
Another popcorn-based (yes, that is actual popcorn you see!) product from Lush, this particular cleanser smelled absolutely dee-lish! As I’ve mentioned before, I have thing for themes so since I picked up the Popcorn Lip Scrub, I decided to pick up Let The Good Times Roll Face and Body Cleanser because they both included popcorn… I know, I know, I’m slightly insane.
A maize in! Geddit? Amazing!
Oh Lush you’re so corny (heehee couldn’t resist) but I love you for it! Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for Let The Good Times Roll. This stuff had cookie dough consistency, so aside from creating a mess in the shower, it was somewhat of a hassle trying to get a good lather going (which is fine because this is Lush and that’s to be expected from their products).
I really wanted to love this stuff. I mean it was Vegan, had fun ingredients (Popcorn!) and a yummy scent. It even induced that self-warming sensation which I find so, so cool! Although my preference is for products that leave you with that slightly cooling (sometimes mint-y) sensation, self-warming is right up there as my second favorite. Sadly, I didn’t enjoy using this stuff. As opposed to cleansing my skin, this felt like I was actually just spreading the dirt around (dead skin, sweat, leftover makeup, etc…). I only used it on my face (never the body) but not once after using this stuff did my face feel fully clean. Not only that, but it was never abrasive enough. Even worse, this stuff left some sort of oily residue (pet peeve!) on my skin, forming a barrier of sorts over the dirt, dead skin and such.
I continued to use this stuff, just for the sake of finishing it up. However, I did use it as a final step, opting to use other products beforehand, seeing as how I couldn’t depend on this stuff to get my face clean. The heating sensation I felt in my face was quite fun (novelty factor!) particularly when it was during the cooler months, and the scent was delicious, especially when used in conjunction with my other vanilla-scented products. I can see people with highly sensitive skin enjoying using this stuff but as for myself, I need something harsher both chemically (sulfates) and physically (abrasiveness) to feel clean. As such, I will not be repurchasing Let The Good Times Roll.
