Run! Don’t walk! Run! Run to the nearest Boots Pharmacy, Sultan Center, Carrefour, or local co-op (apparently these are being sold everywhere) to get your hands on Palmolive Gourmet Spa. I cannot say enough good things about this stuff! I’ve already featured the Gourmet Spa Collection earlier and my favorite bar of soap also happens to be from the same brand, Palmolive. With that being said, I wasn’t expecting to be completely blown away by the excellent performance of the products shown, especially not at that price (Shower Cream KD /800 and Soap Bar KD /300)! Obsessed! <3
Palmolive Gourmet SPA Creamy Coffee Shower Cream 500ml is made with coffee bean extract. This indulgent shower cream will nourish your skin leaving it with a wonderful scent and silky smooth feeling.
Like I said, I don’t drink real coffee, yet I find the scent of actual coffee intoxicating! Personally, I prefer to opt for pseudo-coffee drinks which are overly sweet but smell just as great as the real thing. I’m delighted by the fact that this particular Shower Cream in the scent Creamy Coffee strongly resembles the scent of my favored pseudo-coffee drinks! In fact, I’d even go as far as saying it smells even better, to the extent that I’m severely tempted to take a sip. Don’t believe me? Go give it a sniff in-store. It smells heavenly! Actually, let me rephrase that. Waking up during a hot summer morning and showering in this intoxicating Creamy Coffee Shower Cream is heavenly! Maybe it’s just me but I find the scent so energizing! You’ve heard of a quick pick-me-up? Well I classify this as an instant jolt-me-wide-awake! And then after your little java-scented treat in the shower, you can get out of the shower and have some real coffee (or if you’re like me, NESCAFÉ Vanilla Cappuccino Instant Coffee which is one of my favorite psuedo-coffee drinks) before heading out to start your day!
Gorgeous scent aside, this stuff does an excellent job at cleansing and exfoliating the body! It lathered up quite nicely which made me feel like it was doing a good job at cleansing, but then it had little beads that also buffed away the dead skin. You can see the tiny little exfoliating beads (ground coffee bean extract mayhaps?) in the close-up. They weren’t too many of them in er, a dollop yet they were quite abrasive and somehow exfoliated larger surface areas pretty evenly. I’m very particular when it comes to exfoliating products and this Shower Cream was actually pretty good! I can’t believe it cost so little! Best of all, after I’d rinse it off, it didn’t leave any of that “hydrating” residue on my skin. I wouldn’t recommend this for people with sensitive skin as they might find the beads a bit too rough but for everyone else you can use this stuff year-round; Prepping your skin for a tan (faux or real) during Summer or getting rid of your dead skin during Winter.
Palmolive Gourmet Spa Chocolate Veil Bar Soap with natural cocoa bean extracts, moisturizing components and indulgent aroma leaves your skin feeling smooth, deliciously fragrant and so kissable!
I’m having slightly more difficulty find the Soap Bars from the Gourmet Spa Collection for some reason, aside from the two shown (which I got from Sultan Center eons ago) in the scent Chocolate Veil which is a shame since they were less than KD /300 each. I was honestly delightfully surprised by the very subtle cocoa scent! I was expecting something overly sweet or perfume-y since it was called “Chocolate Veil” but it was actually nice, light and pleasant. In fact, the scent kinda’ reminds me of Nesquik Chocolate Powder.
I’m just eye-balling it here but the Palmolive Gourmet Spa soap bars seem significantly smaller than the regular Palmolive Naturals soap bars (which I feel lasted longer). The Chocolate Veil in particular felt the tiniest bit dry, in the sense that someone left it out in direct sunlight and it sorta’ dried up and shriveled up a little, as opposed to the Palmolive Naturals Moisture Care with Aloe & Olive Extracts which is much creamier in comparison. Again, this didn’t leave any of that annoying “hydrating” residue. For what it is, I feel like it did its job. With that being said, I feel like this is more of a novelty item, something you’d allocate to the bathroom for guest-use only or something a tween would get a kick out of being gifted. I really enjoyed using the Chocolate Veil soap but it didn’t last as long as a regular-sized bar of soap and if I’m being honest, I didn’t feel like it did anything special… aside from smelling great. Then again, for the price, you can keep repurchasing these forever even as you’re constantly running out of them. Personally, I feel like the lovely scent alone (and the dirt cheap price point) makes it worth repurchasing.
