I just can’t say no to a gimmick-y product! I just can’t! So when I saw this at Sultan Center, I grabbed it and tossed it in my shopping cart.
Basically, Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion is a Skin Conditioner that eliminates the need to moisturize after a shower. I’m supposed to wash my body (soap/shower gel), exfoliate and whatnot, and finally apply the In-Shower Body Lotion to my wet skin, but rinse it off before getting out of the shower. I figured it would perform similarly to my beloved Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner (hauled here and reviewed here).
Soft Skin was one of their claims and I absolutely love having soft skin but their No Stickiness claim was what made me super excited more than anything else about this product! If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you’ll know how OCD I can get about invisible residue on my skin, especially if it happens to be sticky. I’ll straight up lose my mind! Another thing is this was supposed to have Almond Oil and generally I tend to enjoy its scent. This ticked all the right boxes for me, straight out of the gate; fun concept, pleasant scent, and best of all, no stickiness!
This is a death trap! I kept slipping and sliding all over the place! I tried rinsing it off my body but I could barely stay upright in my walk-in shower. In fact, I couldn’t even make it out of the bathroom door without falling painfully at least once. Even when I was rinsing it off the floor tiles in my walk-in shower, I couldn’t stop myself from slipping! I kept imagining myself falling over backwards, cracking my head on the floor tiles, and dying (such a ridiculously undignified way to go) all because I wanted to try out the silly Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion. Being the glutton for punishment that I am, I gave it a few more attempts (using much less product) but nothing changed. I also noticed that regardless of the Almond Oil, this still smelled like every other Nivea product (powdery creme scent), which was slightly off-putting. That said, even if it happened to have the best scent in the world (which it didn’t) and made my skin soft (which it did, to some extent) it wasn’t worth having, at the cost of my life. I cannot in good faith recommend this to anyone! Use at your own risk! Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion is death… in a bottle!!!!
