I just finished up this huge thing of mouthwash (500ml) and another toothpaste (103g) from Colgate in the Optic White line.
I’ve been buying Colgate Optic White Toothpaste and Colgate Optic White Mouthwash since 2013. It was mostly because of the hype surrounding them. At one point, I even got a Colgate Toothbrush.
Once of their claims is “one shade lighter in one week“. To this day, I haven’t noticed much of a difference or any difference at all really. That said, I drink pseudo-coffee, tea, and soda regularly. Even though the toothpaste flavor is “sparkling mint”, it’s quite mild and doesn’t feel refreshing, unlike the mouthwash. In fact, from now on, I’m going to stop repurchasing them, and switch to something else. The only reason I kept buying them over and over again was because I was hoping I’d see a difference, figuring out the longer I used it, the closer I was to seeing a result. After about 3 years (one week indeed!), I’ve given up and lost interest. The mouthwash is pretty decent, as I find it sufficiently minty. Even when I used both the mouthwash and toothpaste regularly in conjunction with each other, I did not notice even a minimal change in the brightness or whiteness of my teeth.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend the Colgate Optic White Toothpaste but the Colgate Optic White Mouthwash is alright (if you completely disregard their teeth-whitening claims).
