CoverGirl came out with a limited edition Star Wars Collection to coincide with the release of the new Star Wars movie. Playing up the whole Star Wars theme, the collection is divided into two categories; Light Side and Dark Side.
For the ad campaign, the brand’s global creative design director, makeup artist Pat McGrath, brought the Force to life, creating six looks inspired by the movie.
Top Row – (Light Side) Droid, Mystic, Jedi
Bottom Row – (Dark Side) Storm Trooper, Dark Apprentice, Chrome Captain
Out of all the looks, my favorite is Chrome Captain. Which one is your favorite?
Although it’s not exactly wearable, I’m seriously considering recreating this gorgeous eye look (minus the wacky brows).
A couple more close-ups of this beautiful look before we move on to actual makeup collection.
Dark Purple 50 (Dark Side) – creamy aubergine, Gold 40 (Light Side) – shimmery orange-gold, Red 30 (Dark Side) – opaque metallic berry, Lilac 20 (Dark Side) – cool frosty lilac, Silver 10 (Dark Side) – opaque silver, Nude 70 (Light Side) – metallic rose-gold
Speed of Light (Light Side) – creamy cement grey, Nemesis (Dark Side) – rick black-plum, Red Revenge (Dark Side) – high-shine cherry-red
LashBlast The Super Sizer Waterproof (Light Side) Lashblast The Super Sizer (Dark Side)
Both formulas come in limited-edition tubes with different iconic Star Wars quotes:
1/10: “May the force be with you.”
2/10: “Do. Or do not. There is no try.”
3/10: “You’re my only hope.”
4/10: “I feel the good in you.”
5/10: “Luminous beings are we.”
6/10: “I will finish what you started.”
7/10: “There has been an awakening.”
8/10: “Indeed you are powerful.”
9/10: “You will meet your destiny.”
10/10: “Immune to the light.”
Here’s the haulage: CoverGirl LashBlast The Super Sizer Waterproof (Light Side) with the quote 5/10 “Luminous beings are we.” (I kinda’ wish it was 2/10 “Do. Or do not. There is no try.”), CoverGirl Colorlicious Lipstick in Silver 10 (Dark Side) and CoverGirl Colorlicious Lipstick in Lilac 20 (Dark Side). At first I was gonna skip the entire collection but then I realized that Silver or Lilac could possibly be a dupe for my beloved, long-discontinued Relic lipstick from MAC. Since I was placing an online order anyway, I purchased a mascara (I’ve yet to try this one actually) to round out the order. Like I said, I placed my order online but if you are in Kuwait, you might want to check out Max Factor for this collection. CoverGirl in the United States = Max Factor in Kuwait (just like Nivea in the United States = Labello in Kuwait) “May the Force be with you.”
