Apply to brows by combing through hairs with brush applicator

I first previewed this collection here. I was most interested in the Pro Longwear Waterproof Brow Set from this collection. I’ve been dying to get my hands on Girl Boy for years (seriously, years!) but unfortunately it’s one of the products that can’t be shipped to Kuwait. I’m so glad that Pro Longwear Waterproof Brow Set can be shipped to Kuwait! Initially I was going to purchase either Emphatically Blonde or Toasted Blonde as I tend to go lighter with my brows. Then it occurred to me that since I love Maybelline Define-a-brow in Soft Brown and that pulls a little reddish on me from time to time but is quite complimentary on me, that I should go with something more reddish with this product too because that might end up being complimentary as well so I ended up purchasing Red Chestnut. I purchased this site unseen (no swatches online either ‘cuz it was a new product) from the online MAC store.

I love this product! I like the names of each shade. I like that the outside of each Pro Longwear Waterproof Brow Set is supposed to the reflect the color inside. The little brush is adorable! That said, even though the brush is so little, it is next to impossible for me to get a precise application on the front part of my brows, which I prefer to be defined. I always have to go back in with a concealer to tidy up the edges (on the front part of my brows) if I’m using this product which is quite time consuming. On the plus side, I don’t have to fill in my brows when I use this stuff so I don’t need to sit there for an hour (or ten) with a brow pencil trying to draw my brows. All it takes is a couple of swipes and I’m done. So I guess it kinda’ balances out ‘cuz the time spent on concealer would’ve been time spent penciling in my brows.

I really like how it brushes through the rest of my brows through. I especially like how I can practically manipulate the hairs into any form I like (i.e. fake an arch, etc…) because of the well-made bristles on the brush. Sometimes if it looks like there’s a lot of product on the brush, I’ll just wipe off the excess on the neck of the tube so as not to deposit too much product on my brows. The product is a bit stiff (the stiffness is barely noticeable) to be able to hold my brows in place and I actually like that because my brows are unruly especially when I’m in the process of growing them out. I’ve yet to go swimming with this stuff on so I can’t attest to it’s waterproof-ness just yet.

Here are some swatches in different lighting. Note how it pulls a little reddish in the last pic. Red Chestnut actually tints my brows a lighter shade which is perfect for when I’m mid-process of growing my brows. I make it sound like I’m nurturing a plant or something hehe I think I’ll pick up another one in a darker shade next time though.

I know it doesn’t sound like it from this review but I actually love this Pro Longwear Waterproof Brow Set! I love the little brush! I really appreciate how controlled and precise the application is. I also love how it brushes through my brows and deposits color. I especially like the fact that it completely tints my brows (to match the tube) and that my brows are actually held in place until I’m ready to wash it off. This product truly exceeded my expectation!
