Haulage L-R Top Row: Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner Skin Conditioner, Big Sea Salt Shampoo, Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub Bottom Row: You Snap The Whip Body Butter, Aqua Mirabilis Body Butter, and 2 square body butter tins (A safe haven for Body Butters to rest and travel in). I had placed an order online with Lush (in this post) on Friday July 18. These Lush goodies were delivered on Saturday July 19 at 11pm. Excellent delivery service, Lush!

I had actually put in an order for 2 King of Skin Body Butters (as I’m currently suffering from dry skin which consequentially led to itchy skin) but I was called up yesterday by Lush and told that they were out of stock, which is why I chose something I knew (I’ve already tried before and loved) You Snap The Whip Body Butter (hardcore blackcurrant and charcoal scrub), and something new Aqua Mirabilis Body Butter (scrubby shower massage for marvelously conditioned skin).

Here’s how they describe You Snap The Whip Body Butter:

It’s black, it’s fruity and it scrubs your skin really, really hard. You Snap the Whip and show your skin who’s boss with our blackcurrant-y exfoliation body butter in the extreme. When your skin has been very, very naughty get soaked in the shower and start your punishment; pumice and charcoal banish rough bits that make your skin look dull, and reveal the new skin underneath. Once the wickedly effective exfoliation is over, luxurious macadamia nut oil comforts to keep it soft and well behaved and scents you with fruity blackcurrant and bergamot essential oils.

Here’s how they describe Aqua Mirabilis Body Butter:

Give your skin an underwater shower massage with Aqua Mirabilis. Ground almond shells stimulate your bumpy bits and rub away dead skin cells to leave it soft, clear and smooth. Great for caring for dry skin, we make our Aqua Mirabilis body butter with a luxurious blend of cocoa and almond butters with just the perfect consistency to moisturize and sink in easily so your skin is left feeling silky soft, not greasy. For a finishing effect, beautiful sandalwood and rose oils calm redness and lend a gorgeous fragrance to the bar, and your body.

This is what Aqua Mirabilis looks like. The representative from Lush (who had called to tell me that they were out of stock) helped me pick it out over the phone, and assured me that it smelled like almonds. It actually smells like wet cardboard with a dash of wet oatmeal which surprisingly is not an all together bad scent as I find myself sniffing it over and over again (issues…). It seems like the type of scent that will grow on you, maybe? I’m more disappointed by the fact that I was misled. Then again, maybe it’ll smell like almonds once I use it in the shower?

As soon as I was done with the photos, I washed my hands with Aqua Mirabilis and fell in love right away. It’s so abrasive! If you follow my blog, you will know by now that I’m obsessed with exfoliating products, the tougher, the better, and this seems to fit the bill. I felt like the whole bar consists of scrubby bits and every time you use it, some of the scrubby bits dislodge themselves from the bar, to better exfoliate your skin. I can’t wait to use this in the shower!

I’m so glad I decided to purchase those square body butter tins at the last minute, as I find them quite convenient because these body butters tend to melt in the heat, melt upon contact with water, and go bad over time, so the tin serves to protect them. The tins are cute, compact, and easy to clean, which is ideal for storing your body butters, soaps, and other products from Lush.

Here’s what they say about Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner:

LUSH product inventor Rowena made this decadent, rose-scented shower ‘lotion’. She noticed how much she liked the sultry soft feeling hair conditioner gives her hair, so she thought how nice it would be if she could have the same feeling for the body too. With scoops of cocoa butter, cupuacu butter, almond oil and Argan oils, and the fragrant scent of fresh rose petals, this is the most luxurious body softener that ever was (if we don’t say so ourselves!). After washing up, slather yourself all over with this new invention. Rinse, pat dry and revel in supremely soft, rose-scented skin.

Here’s what they say about Big Shampoo:

Over half the base of Big shampoo is made with sea salt, giving massive volume to hair in need of a boost. Sea salt is also full of minerals and de-greases hair, removing dead skin cells and dirt without stripping natural oils for a fresh, squeaky clean feeling. We balance the sea salt with seaweed infusion, extra virgin coconut oil and avocado butter for soft, nourished locks. Finally, fresh citrus juices are squeezed in for incredible shine. It’s no wonder this one is a best-seller!

Here’s what they say about Ocean Salt Shower Scrub:

Washing with Ocean Salt is like taking your face on a trip to the seaside for an invigorating splash in the water. The minerals in sea salt soften as it scrubs away dirt, dead skin and blockages for a bright, fresh face. We mix in fresh avocado and coconut to hydrate thirsty skin, leaving it balanced and soft. The cleansing effects of lime and vodka are ideal for blocked pores, blackheads or blemishes and leave skin visibly brightened. It’s no wonder Ocean Salt is so enormously popular!

Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner (luxurious rose-scented shower lotion for the softest skin that ever was) I just love the way this smells! It reminds me of cookie dough with a hint of lemon. Initially, this felt greasy and oily but it absorbed quickly and left me with super soft, glow-y (as in healthy looking) skin, that also smelled amazing! I even find the play on words Ro’s = Rose absolutely adorable! Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner is the reason why I ordered from Lush in the first place as I’ve been wanting to try this particular product for a very long time (new-found love for rose-scented products) but the locations of the stores are inconvenient, making this whole delivery thing a brilliant idea! I’m also amazed by the amount of random products (from any brand, not just Lush) that contain some form of argan oil. I wouldn’t be surprised if Pinkberry came out with a Strawberry Argan flavor in the near future. That’s not to say I won’t be the first in line to buy it ;)

Big Shampoo (get loads of volume and shine with sea salt and lime juice) This has a really green scent to it, like grass or something, can’t quite put my finger on it just yet. I got this because I’ve only ever used sea salt scrubs and sea salt hair texturizing sprays but never a sea salt shampoo so obviously I’m very intrigued. Also, as I’ve mentioned before, I’m attracted to certain words on beauty and skincare items. Volume happens to be one of them so I had to get this. It doesn’t hurt at all that Big Shampoo has gotten rave reviews from people all over the world. So excited to try this as well! Even the texture looks fun, like jell-o bubbles!

Ocean Salt Shower Scrub (our best-selling salt scrub for a glowing complexion) This smells strongly of limes with an underlying green scent (grass?). I got this because Sea Salt is apparently yet another term that I gravitate towards when it’s on a beauty product. I got this in the small size because the last time I purchased a shower gel from Lush, it expired before I was even halfway through with it. Which brings me to my next point, if all these products are made from fresh and natural ingredients with no preservatives, then how come the expiration date on these things is a week and a year from now? I was really excited to use this as well (because I’m obsessed with exfoliating scrubs) but to be honest, the scent has left me underwhelmed. No worries though as this is just my first impression of these products. Hopefully they’ll win me over, after thorough use. In-depth reviews to come!
