Lush Collagen formula and claw brush fill out lashes up to 8 x the volume with fabulous cat-like corners, instantly. It’s wild!
I’ve already mentioned this in My Story: Mascara post but this mascara has been a long time favorite of mine, pushing Diorshow out of first place. The packaging is yellow with shiny bronze leopard print on the cap (which plays into the whole cat eye/feline theme) which aside from being so cute makes it also pretty easy to find in an overflowing makeup bag.
I love the curved brush or “claw” brush as they call it, on this mascara because it creates a curl while gently grabbing the lashes and eases them upwards as it’s coating them with the collagen infused formula. It’s also one of those “wet” mascaras, which I adore.
Positioning the brush as shown in the photo above (matching the curve of the brush to my lashes) I brush it through my lashes and like I said, it grabs each lash and gently tugs them upwards but because of the claw brush, it curls them too.
Once the first coat is dry, I flip the brush over (as seen in the photo above) and brush it through my lashes, concentrating on the outer corners. What this does is push them upwards until they reach my eyebrows, resulting in beautifully fanned out, defined and curled lashes. To take it to the next level, I top it all off with Lancome’s Oscillation.
For a less dramatic day-time look, I’ll curl my lashes using an eyelash curler from E.L.F. ($1 but I love it just as much as I love my Shu Uemura eyelash curler) and then use just one coat of Maybelline’s Cat Eyes. This is the only mascara that I feel comfortable wearing with only one coat (but I prefer 2 coats usually). There’s no funky smell and it washes off with warm water and soap (but I prefer using a makeup remover). Unfortunately, even though I bought my first one in Kuwait, I can’t seem to find it in stores locally, anymore. I bought this mascara so many times in the past, and will continue to do so in the future. As a matter of fact, I have 2 unopened ones in my makeup drawer right now. I need, it’s not a matter of want anymore, I physically need to have at least 1 on me at all times. Love. It.
