First of all, how stinkin’ cute is that packaging? I’m not really big on floral print but the only exception is if the flowers in question are in Hawaiian print. Surf Baby is all decked out white and yellow with red and grey stripes topped off with a single Hawaiian Hibiscus. Cute! I picked up 2 eyeshadows, 2 powerpoint eye pencils, and a lipstick.
I picked up Swell Baby which is described as a mid-tone grey with a satin finish and Surf U.S.A. which is described as a frosted teal with a frost finish. I’m obsessed with grey eyeshadow which is why I picked up Swell Baby and I was going through a teal phase which is why I chose Surf U.S.A. Both of these eyeshadows are soft as buttah and apply like a dream! Surf U.S.A. is crazy pigmented! I know it can sometimes look blue in the photos (as most teals do) but it’s more green-y when applied.
I also picked up my first powerpoint eye pencils in the shades Blue Noon which is described as teal with gold pearl and Gilded White which is described as a yellow white frost. Swatches are in this order Gilded White, Swell Baby, Surf U.S.A., Blue Noon. The lighter greeny teal is Surf U.S.A. whereas the darker bluesy one is Blue Noon. Blue Noon is a gorgeous blue teal and kinda’ reminds me of Siahi fluidline. I bought Gilded White because sometimes I enjoy using iridescent shades on my waterline but this was too soft and kept gathering in my inner corner making it look like I had eye boogers and who wants to deal with that?
The lipstick I got was called Hibiscus which is described as a bright orange coral with a cremesheen finish. To me, Hibiscus looks like an orange red with gold micro-shimmers. Let me tell you, it clashes somethin’ mighty awful on lil old me. Maybe it would look better if it was a matte finish… or summat.
