This award-winning volumizing mascara achieves a dramatic result in a single stroke. The secret? The triple-film complex. A coating film for intensity, a conditioning film with pro-vitamin B5 and aloe vera for curves and a fixing film with vinyl polymer for long-lasting effectiveness. The brush applicator combines nylon fibers of varying diameters for volume enhancement, as never before.
Despite the gold packaging which some might like (but I don’t) this mascara looks pretty sleek! This has a wet formula which is what I prefer, but if you like a drier formula you can just buy this, open it up, and after the first use, it’ll be more dry in a little under a week. Volume Effect Faux Cils also has that strange perfume-y scent which dissipates shortly after. You can use this as a base mascara to coat all your lashes or as a topper over other mascaras for that final touch. Personally, when I use this, I don’t use other mascaras with it because this really does give dramatic results, as promised. It does play well with other mascaras, though.
The brush on this thing is a bit on the slim side but somehow it works wonders on my non-existent lashes. It darkens them, plumps them up, and gives them definition. Basically, it makes them not only visible but pretty as well. It’s also buildable, meaning I can do my thing (where I keep adding more) until I get that false lash effect, which I love. It’s pretty easy to remove too. The only con, I guess (besides the gold) is that this mascara is usually sold out at YSL counters which is why I suggest you don’t get too attached.
