Bath and Body Works Twilight Woods Body Lotion

Requested by the lovely Sharon.

Packaging: Twilight Woods Body Lotion with Vitamin E is from Bath & Body Works Signature Collection. For (KD 2/000) or (AED 25.00) you get 88mL/3 FL OZ  (travel size) which comes in a transparent plastic bottle with a sticker slapped across the front, the ingredients and such listed on another sticker slapped on the back, and a durable flip-top lid dispenser (you press down on one side which lifts up the opposite side). You can unscrew the cap off which is convenient if you’d like to dispense lotion into another container.

I like the fact that the plastic bottle is clear because that way I can see how much I have left. I don’t have to tell you guys how inconvenient it is when you run out of lotion right before an important event or when you’re fresh out of the shower and run out of lotion half-way through moisturizing. You can’t exactly run out to buy more in a towel.

I also like the portable size it comes in making it both storage-friendly and travel-friendly. Since it’s so small, I can discreetly apply lotion at my desk at work away from prying eyes of nosey coworkers. Students can stash this in their lockers at school/college/uni. Those who are always on the go can pop this in the glove compartment of their cars. No bigger than those ubiquitous hand sanitizers, this is small enough to fit into your purse, especially if like me you favor those ginormous handbags.

Moisturizing Properties: As far as moisturizers go, I feel that this is pretty average. I do like the fact that it dries pretty quickly and it doesn’t feel greasy afterwards but I would not recommend this for people with dry skin. There are no long term effects meaning you will get softer skin but your skin will revert to it’s regular texture once you stop using this. Basically, the moisturizing properties of this body lotion are just like most moisturizers out there which was kind of disappointing considering the list of so called “powerful ingredients”. Check it.

Our exclusive Signature Body Lotion formula, fortified with powerful ingredients like super conditioning Shea Butter, fast absorbing Jojoba Oil and protective Vitamin E, hydrates skin with moisture that lasts all day. Our non-greasy formula absorbs quickly and completely to leave skin feeling incredibly soft, smooth and nourished, making it the perfect daily moisturizer.

I wasn’t going to bother with listing the fragrance notes because I’m pretty sure that B&BW is just making stuff up but I thought I’d let you guys see for yourself.

  • Our exclusive Twilight Woods is a hypnotic fragrance inspired by a romantic walk in enchanted woods
  • Key fragrance notes: Juicy Berry, Soft Mimosa, Apricot Nectar, Warm Woods

Scent: Describing fragrances is a bit difficult because what someone might perceive to be a pleasant smell could easily smell horrible to someone else. Also, the fact that everyone’s body chemistry reacts differently with different fragrances could make something that smells lovely on you, smell horrible on me. So please ladies and gents, I urge you to try out the testers before you purchase any fragrances or scented cosmetics.

Twilight Woods is my new favorite body lotion because it’s such a complex scent. At first when I put some of this stuff on, all I smell is light sweet fruity scent which I guess would be the “Juicy Berry, Soft Mimosa, and Apricot Nectar” aka the top notes. Once it dries down though, a much stronger scent is discernable which would be the “Warm Woods” working in tandem with the the light fruity scent to create a lovely sweet yet dry and woodsy scent that is Twilight Woods.

This is more of a sophisticated woman’s scent as opposed to the sweet/fruity/vanilla scents I usually go for. It’s great for those who would like to venture into Wood Fragrance territory but don’t want to fully commit yet. I recommend using this during the cooler months of Fall or Winter. Personally, I love moisturizing my skin with this right after getting out of the shower but before getting into bed. That way, the scent stays with me while I dream.

Beauty Fun Fact: The name Twilight Woods is a clever marketing ploy on B&BW’s part to cash in on the Twilight series success. As expected, Twi-hard fans bought this based soley on the name. That said, this is actually worth purchasing on its own merit.

So what do you lovelies think? Have you heard of Twilight Woods Body Lotion before? If not, are you interested after reading this review? Would you buy it?
