Huge Haul: Beauty Expo (Spring ’10)

Hey you guys! If you have checked the Steals and Deals section recently, you will have noticed that there was a Beauty Exhibition held in Mishref Fair Grounds from March 25 through April 3. Whats the point in going, you say? I’ll tell you. A) Up to 75% discounts on perfumes and cosmetics B) Gifts with purchase C) Samples galore! Another bonus is that they hand out  pamphlets and brochures for all kinds of stuff, gift bags are given out randomly, and they’ve always got some sort of raffle going on, the prize usually being a car of some sort (see second photo).  I was not allowed to take pictures inside the halls but I took some anyways, just for you guys, so please enjoy!

As you can clearly see, the “Queen” look is quite popular in this area of the world.

This is the colorful mono eyeshadow collection from Sephora. Aren’t the colors just gorgeous?

Harajuku Lovers! Finally! I’ve been waiting for these for oh so long!

I was on cloud nine after discovering Harajuku Lovers!

So imagine how I felt after discovering the China Glaze booth!

The ladies sure didn’t waste any time in snagging as many as they could. These practically flew off the shelves.

Wyrd sisters? I jest.

Hmm… Tattoo Spray… innovative or gauche?

I vaguely recall purchasing something similar from Bourjois back in the 90’s except back then you had to stamp your tattoo on, as opposed to spraying it on.

If I was a tween, I would be all over this.

Ahh the (in)famous Conair, 99% of your products are FAIL but I keep returning for that 1% which is usually a huge WIN. Honestly has anyone ever used a curling iron from Conair that actually creates curls that last for longer than an hour? *sigh* The ever-elusive curls… someday… someday…

Remind you of something?

If it looks like the Ojon Tawaka Ball and acts like the Ojon Tawaka Ball… what does that make it? Why an Ojon Tawaka Ball dupe, of course! You heard it here first, folks!

DMGM Cosmetics Catalogue. It’s quite detailed and fun to flip through, if nothing else.

The Arab World’s answer to Burt’s Bees?

Left-Right: Keratin, Acai, Passion Fruit, Babassu (just think Bubba Ho-Tep, or the more obvious Boba Fett or y’know, Bubba Sparxxx), Cupuacu, Lemongrass, Pomegranate, Buriti

As opposed to Fair & Lovely.

Pretty pamphlets/brochures/whateveryouwannacallem from Makeup Forever. So fun to flip through!

The haul…

I can’t remember where I got this desk drawer organizer but I use it to store samples until I get a chance to try them out. These are the samples that I got during my latest haul.

I got these acrylic lipstick holders that can store up to 24 lipsticks each (only 1KD per holder) at the Beauty Expo! I am very pleased with this purchase especially, because I am all about storage. It’s kind of my thing.

A more detailed post on my latest haul, coming soon! Hope you enjoyed this post!

  1. Hmm it looks like your blog ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I’ll just sum it
up what I had written and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog.
I too am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to everything.
Do you have any helpful hints for novice blog writers? I’d really appreciate it.

  2. Steps in the best way to clear a green swamp:The first step in how you can clear a natural pool would be to
remove any debris through the pool. Mark the river level
of the pool on the outside of the bucket or elsewhere.
It’s a functional gadget for removing small sticks and insects; many models are integrated inside the pool system while
    others are manually operated.
